Our proposal sets out the intention to restore the legacy of the farm and expand its social impact, securing its role as a local community hub, a resource for learning, growing and connecting, and as a day-out destination.
The vision has been initiated and continues to be developed by a groundswell of local people since 2024, through community meetings, feedback sessions and local events, which have demonstrated a desperate and enthusiastic demand to see the farm reopened.
The plans for the farm propose a mix of us on the site to ensure its long term viability, sustainability and appeal, from community cafe and garden, creative workspace and retrofit hub, as well as small animal farm and outdoor play. The proposal intends to promote and enable social inclusion, support both existing and new residents, fill the local service gap and encourage growth, innovation and entrepreneurialism in sustainability, construction, food and landscape. The project brings jobs and education opportunities at many levels: from forest school and farm days for children; creative outlets and training for young people; and workshops and short courses for adults.
